Lex Veldhuis joins GGPoker as global streaming ambassador

Lex Veldhuis has joined GGPoker as Global Streaming Ambassador after leaving PokerStars in January. The streamer returns to regular play after being largely inactive on Twitch for most of 2025.

Lex Veldhuis has joined GGPoker as its Global Streaming Ambassador, ending a period of uncertainty after he left PokerStars in January following 15 years with the company. The move brings the poker streamer and tournament player onto a team led by Daniel Negreanu.

GGPoker announced Veldhuis’s appointment in a Tuesday press release. He is one of poker’s best-known livestreamers, with 330,000 Twitch subscribers, and will bring his audience to the operator as he resumes streaming and plays multi-table tournaments on the site.

Negreanu, who has represented GGPoker for the past seven years, welcomed the appointment. He became a free agent earlier in 2019 after his time as a PokerStars Team Pro.

“His passion for the game, his unmatched work ethic, and his ability to connect with fans are exactly what we look for in a GGTeam ambassador,” Negreanu said.

A new home after PokerStars

Veldhuis’s departure from PokerStars in January came as a surprise to many in the poker community. He had built a substantial Twitch following over several years, but was largely inactive as a streamer for most of 2025. He has since returned to streaming, playing multi-table tournaments on GGPoker.

His poker career has also included live tournament results and appearances in televised high-stakes cash games, including the PokerStars Big Game and High Stakes Poker. Veldhuis mostly plays online multi-table tournaments or live cash games, and has recorded more than $700,000 in live tournament cashes.

“I’m really excited to officially join GGTeam as Global Streaming Ambassador and begin this new chapter,” Veldhuis said in the announcement. “GGPoker is the biggest poker site in the world, and it really feels like the natural fit for me and my community. Over the last year I’ve played exclusively on GG and have been genuinely impressed by the software and the size of the tournaments. It has completely invigorated my enjoyment of poker and grinding again. Every time I’ve spoken with the GGPoker team I've been intrigued by their vision and their drive to innovate. It made me realize I wanted to be part of this process.”

The appointment gives GGPoker a prominent streaming figure with a large existing fan base. Veldhuis said he had played exclusively on GG over the past year and praised the site’s software and tournament fields.
